What is Reiki?
Reiki is Japanese for ‘Universal life energy’ and is a holistic healing technique founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century.
We live in a world where everything is made up of energy, including us! When our energy is able to flow freely we experience a sense of peace and well-being. However, sometimes energy can become stuck or blocked and may manifest as any number of physical or emotional issues. Reiki can help to release and remove those block and help restore the energy flow.
Anyone can enjoy a Reiki treatment and it can be used alongside any conventional or complementary therapy. During a treatment, you remain fully clothed, either lying down or in a comfortable seated position allowing you to relax. The practitioner gently places their hands in a sequence of non-intrusive positions on the body, letting the healing Reiki energy flow through them into the recipient. The body is treated as a whole and Reiki will naturally flow to where it is needed. Everyone experiences Reiki differently, depending on their needs at the time.
